There are many benefits to obtaining a graduate degree. Recent studies have shown that the increased education provides benefits well beyond the increased salary that is well known to go along with it. Some people don’t know that there are different types of graduate degrees. Graduate degrees encompass a variety of types of master’s degrees. There are two categories of graduate schools.

The first category of graduate school is called a Master of Arts. A Master of Arts is usually associated with fields of study that are considered more artistic. These may include culinary arts, art history, and some of the literary fields of study.

The other category for graduate school is called a Master of Science. These graduate degrees encompass fields of study in technological fields, social science fields, and public policy.

Many of the higher level job positions require a graduate degree. Graduate degrees are not just for teachers anymore.
